The three-day Karunagiri Feast this year was celebrated in a grand manner from 27th February to 2nd March. The feast had a grand start on saturday, 27th February with a flag-hoisting at Calvary. The flag-hoisting was followed by a prayer meeting and a spiritual talk by Muthangi Prayer Team. Great number of people from across the diocese and elsewhere attended the celebrations and Charismatic prayers by Muthangi team from 28th February to 2nd March. Many people took active part in the conventions, received blessing from the Lord and got healed of their sicknesses. On Sunday 28th evening at 4.00 pm there was solemn Eucharistic celebration by Rev. Fr. Guvvala George, the financial administrator of the diocese. The faithful were taken up by his inspiring homily. The holy Eucharist was followed by cultural programmes which included prayer dances by Bala Jyothi Remedial school children and Yuva Teja Vocational Training Center. Again on 1st of March, the healing convention was led by Rev. Fr. Sathish SVD and Muthangi team. At 4.30 pm there was a Holy Eucharistic celebration presided over by Rev. Msgr. Thappeta Showry, the vicar general of Khammam diocese followed by a prayer dance by Chintakani Remedial school children and wonderful kolatam by Banigandlapadu parish.

On 2nd of March, the feast day proper, thousands of devotees from across the diocese and other parts of the state took part in the Yathra Mahothsavam. Charismatic prayers and healing sessions continued till mid-day culminating in the Eucharistic Procession led by His Lordship Most Rev. Maipan Paul while the devotees
kept singing and praising. At around 2.30 pm competitions were held in kolatam, Chekka Bhajana and dappu on the main stage. Later procession with Karunagiri Radham, began from Calvary and proceeding through all the mysteries of the Holy Rosary sthupams, completed a tour around the shrine even as various troops from different parts of the diocese enthusiastically performed kolatam, chekka bhajana and dappu. The celebrations culminated in the Pontifical High Mass presided over by His Lordship Most Rev. Maipan Paul DD at 4.30 pm. The Feast day Mass was followed by religious skits and dances by St. Joseph’s Major Seminary brothers and distribution of prizes to the winners of kolatam and dappu competitions. Rev. Fr. K.
